Next week we will be doing a reading exercise where we will be reading news articles. We will be selecting interesting articles, reading them, summarising them and then forming an opinion about them.

Can you please send in any recent newspapers that you no longer need?

Our amazing day at Tree Adventures!!!

Hello Amazing Learners, Parents and Whanau

Our year 5's had a wonderful experience during the last two days of school with their trip to Eastern Beach and then to Tree Adventures. We were able to learn, practice and master new physical skills as well as engage and have fun with friends, parents and teachers!

Thank you to our amazing parent helpers! We couldn't have done this without you and it was such a joy to have you there. We hope you had a great time too :)

  

   


  

  

Where have they been?!

Flash and Ash have been loving going out with room 6 students. They have been experiencing the world through new and fun adventures. Thank you very much to the students who have taken excellent care of them and written down the adventure for us all to read.

AND we have many more stories to be read as well as yet to be told, Flash and Ash hope to have an adventure with everyone in room 6.

The stories of Flash and Ash's adventures are in our classroom library, come on in and read them!

Learning Links?

Hi Parents

It was great getting the opportunity to meet some of you yesterday at the PTA Picnic. I have added a new page to the class blog titled 'Learning Links'. This page has websites that are safe for your students to use at home (and school) to help develop their learning further. You will find the links are sectioned by reading, maths (yes, this includes basic facts practice), coding, typing and other, I hope that you and your learner have a look and are able to start using them at home.

Tomorrow our wonderful PTA team have organised a picnic for you to come and enjoy as well as meet your child/s classroom teacher/s. This is a great opportunity for you to come in and see the classroom and meet myself as well as my getting to meet you. Room 6 Enjoys First Week Back To School!

It has been an amazing experience getting to know the students of room 6! We have been busy getting to know each other and building routines to help us during the rest of the school year. We have been moving desks to get to know new people, we have been doing a lot of talking about ourselves and talking to each other to build a wonderful room culture, we have been working together and independently on maths and writing experiences to start extending our learning and most importantly... we have been having FUN!



I am super excited to continue getting to know each other in the next couple of weeks.
